Wiki Course content

A wiki is a fantastic classroom tool. It is free, requires no HTML and is like a website. In my thinking every teacher should consider introducing a classroom blog and a wiki! Here is a reminder of the course content:

Week 1: How to create a wiki using Wikispaces (9 May - 15 May)
Week 2: Make your wiki look and work like a website (15 May - 20 May)
Week 3: Add writing, photos, audio and video to your wiki (21 May - 27 May)
Week 4: Using your wiki for online projects (28 May - 31 May)

These topics are supported by webinars - you can click on the webinar programme on the left in the navigation bar for more details.

Certificate of Participation requirements for SchoolNet’s Create a wiki course

This will be awarded at the end of the course if the minimum requirements are met as shown below. If you get behind in the course please don’t worry! The main thing is to write a reflection every week so that I know you are still there and it could just say how busy you have been and you plan to catch up etc! After the course you get one month to complete the minimum requirements (till end of June 2012). See below:

Week1

Create a comment on the blog saying who you are, what school you are from and what kind of wiki interests you http://wikicourse.blogspot.com/2012/05/week-11-welcome-to-course.html#comment-form
Week2

Create a wiki and write your wiki address on the appropriate page of the blog.

Add a few navigation pages to your wiki

Write a reflection post on your second week which involved making a wiki and then doing something to make it look like a website (such as adding a couple of navigation pages)
